H.E. Walid Al-Samaani, Saudi Minister of Justice, met with H.E. Keisuke Suzuki, Japanese Minister of Justice, during an official visit to Japan to discuss enhancing judicial relations between the two countries.
Al-Samaani reviewed advancements in Saudi Arabia’s judicial sector, supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and under the oversight of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister.
He highlighted specialized legislation that promotes prompt justice and strengthens transparency through audio and video documentation of court hearings, both in physical courtrooms and virtual e-litigation sessions. He also noted the publication of judicial rulings and efforts to advance preventive justice by notarizing contracts as enforceable documents.
During the meeting, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation in the judicial field. The MoU facilitates the exchange of expertise and information in legal and judicial areas, including legislation, capacity building, and dispute resolution.
